Around $5 million worth of works is underway or set to begin at one of Townsville’s most popular large-lot residential developments to bring forward additional stages.
Elements NQ have contracted Townsville Earth Moving to begin civil works on Stage 2 of The Orchard, a 400-lot master planned community off Darling Road in Jensen.
Project Manager, Shane Martin, said the community had sold out of its first stage and buyers had secured all but four lots of the 24 available in stage 2.
“We have been overwhelmed with interest in new home sites following the launch of the Federal Government’s $25,000 first homebuyer grant that, when combined with the Queensland Government’s $15,000, provides a great incentive for buyers to act now,” Mr Martin said.
“There is also a further $5,000 on the table for regional buyers meaning eligible buyers have the opportunity to access a whopping $45,000 to go towards a new home.
“This has all led to us bringing forward works on Stage 3 in an effort to respond to demand for our larger lot product.
“The approximate value of construction works to deliver the next two stages is in excess of $5 million and that doesn’t include the construction of the houses so it’s that we are able to support the creation of more local jobs.”
The Orchard is set amongst natural bushland close to access to the Ring Road providing residents with quick and easy access to major employment hubs of JCU, the Hospital and Lavarack.
“Most of our residents are owner-occupier families who have a fantastic spirit of pride for where they live,” Mr Martin said.
“Many are front-line health or defence workers who are seeking more space to build their dream homes, with plenty of room for a shed or pool and enjoy the sense of security and privacy that comes with a community that has just one entry road.
“We are very proud of the community that is being created at The Orchard and it is exciting to see it growing so quickly.”
Stage 2 of The Orchard has blocks ranging in size from 1,000sq m to over 3,000sq m and is close to a range of amenity including schools, shops and recreation.
